Just got this info from Ruger. I'd probably still take a S&W 617, but this is a whole lot cheaper.

Funny thing, I was just reading a writeup in Guns & Ammo magazine about this revolver while my oil was being changed on my Ranger. It wasn't much of an opinion as much as it was Ruger decribing their gun. They made a big deal about how tight their bore is and how that makes it more accurate. The problem with the Ruger Single Six barrel is that it is a bit large for regular 22LR ammo so that it can accomodate the 22 mag ammo.

This SP-101 looks pretty good. I'd love to see some honest range reports on it.

It should be a neat little kit gun. I love the SP101 in other calibers, although some find them to be a bit heavy for their size. That has never been an issue with me. They should see a whole bunch of these.

Nope the Ruger website says it's neither MA or CA compliant at this time.

What a load of poop. Don't get me wrong, the entire EOPS thing is nonsensical at least and asinine to the core, but revolvers should just get a pass. How many loaded chamber indicators does one gun need? [laugh]

Hi Guys, sorry to resurrect an old thread, but do you guys know any shops that have these available? I've been looking for a .22 revolver for a while. I considered the LCR .22, but I rather have a DA/SA. Thank you in advance.

Mike

MFS had a real nice used one recently at a very fair price but sold it before I could get up the money. I'm still crying over that one that got away. [thinking]

I bought a ruger sp 101 in .22 for my daughters first pistol a few months ago. The pistol is a tad heavy buy fits her hand well. The pistol shoots dead on, she likes the sights. The only thing we will change is the hammer and trigger springs. I love my smith mod 63 and carry it fishing and camping all the time it is lighter than the 101. However the 101 at the range is steadier due to the weight than the smith.

Blue northern has one in the case.....saw it yesterday......done remember the exact price but it was like 550 bucks
