First, Does anyone own one of these (Ruger SR22)?

I was up at Cabela's and liked the Ruger SR22 over the S&W15/22. The weight of the SR22 just felt better. Also since I already own a 10/22 I like the fact that I can use the rotary mags I already own.

Four Seasons sent out their email newsletter stating they have the MA compliant ones so I am holding myself to looking more into them before going to buy one...

My biggest hangup how the handguard looks.. So, Second, can you change out the handguard?

Thanks for any help with this.

My Wife and I both handled one at FS a week or so ago. I really like it, HOWEVER the damn AWB creates a serious issue. When my Wife held it, it looked like she was reaching for the moon . . . the stock is pinned much too long for her to comfortably handle the gun. [thinking]

There is a real good reason for collapsible stocks and one could make a good case that they IMPROVE gun safety! However, that would fly as high as a granite stone amongst the MA legistraitors.

Can't you pin a collapsible stock to a shorter length? Or dp the BS MA laws prohibit that?

pinned

the sr22 comes already pinned, and it' doesn't seem
like you could change the pinned setting,
it looks and feels like it was cast as 1 piece
as opposed to pinned
handled 1 @ zha today

I have one. I picked it up at North Shore Firearms for around $460. It is very nice and shoots well. I threw a strikefire red dot on it and it is good to go. The kit that makes it an AR style is from Nordic. It is completely interchangeable. Here is the link:

Nordic Components - Ruger 10/22 AR22 Stock Kit

This 3 piece stock kit in conjunction with your Ruger 10-22 allows you to build a practice rifle that is very similiar to an AR-15. Use your choice of butt stock, free float forearm tube and hand grip to build the practice rifle that works for you. Works with a factory or after market barrel made for the Ruger 10/22.

It does not just look like an AR-15, it looks and feels like an AR-15. This stock is ergonomically identical to your AR-15 platform rifle.
