Ruger SR9 Compact

I P/U my SR9C last Saturday and it will be my new Carry Firearm.
I have put 450 rounds down range. The most I have ever spent on a firearm but after the initial 100 I just wanted to shoot it more and then my buddies wanted to shoot it so we shot even MORE!!! We never had a single hiccup, not once and they were using some crappy ammo. I have 4 firearms and I can not shoot as good with any of them like I have the SR9C it feel's very natural in the hand and it seems to point straight on its own. I personally like the fact it has an external safety so I can carry more confidently with one in the chamber. The Trigger is 1000 times better then the original SR9 and they even said they redesigned this specifically for the C. It breaks down super easy and I actually enjoy cleaning it.
Anyone is welcome to try it in the braintree area. Just let me know.

I just bought one two weeks ago it is a great carry gun. iIve fired about 200 round threw it no problem only thing I dont liike are the slide serations are sharp. It looks just like a glock when you break it down and the manual safety does not have to be engage to be safe. As it has one on the trigger and a firing pin block so my safety stays as im used to carrying glocks

I'd buy one if it wasn't for the fruity LCI and magazine safety/disconnect. I'd bet the mag disconnect can probably be killed off pretty easy, though. What is nice about the 9c is it is native 10 rounds, no cripplemags. Looks like an economical carry gun.... with far better potential than things like the S**gma....

I went down to Four Seasons yesterday expecting to buy a M&P 9c as my first ever gun. Instead I walked out with the Ruger, the gun felt better in my hand and the trigger was very smooth compared to the M&P. I put 100 rounds through it with zero problems and the gun stays on target with ease. Also the customer service from Karl was top notch, excellent buy all around.

Any thoughts about these gun, expericnces???

I picked up mine today. Cleaned out some of the excess grease and put 150 rounds through it at the range. I was very pleased wit it's performance. Shot from 21 feet out blew apart two targets. Like the other posters have said, out of the box, it is extremely stiff. The slide release is going to take a lot of work, but as far as accuracy and the feel in my hand, I couldn't be more please. With the grip extension, it felt very similar to a Glock 19, which I shoot frequently.

Check out the Ruger Forum. The SR9 series is plagued with problems.

The only problem I have with my SR9 is the take-down lever is so hard to remove that I have only cleaned it once. I needed a knife to pry the take-down lever out enough to get a good grip on it as pushing it didn't do anything. Even after adding grease and gun oil to it it remains difficult. That is my only problem with it. I bought mine new. A friend who has one bought his used and the take-down lever is fine. No issues with that one either.
