Can anyone identify this for me? It's my buddy's, and he's not sure exactly what it is ... we just know it's Russian, chambered in .380, and appears to have been imported by a company in Tucson, AZ. Thanks!!
It's a Russian Commercial Makarov. There are two versions. One in the original 9X18 and one in .380. The following is taken from Makarov.com:
"Baikal and Izhmech new production Makarov. These are recognizable by their rear adjustable target sight, "Made in Russia" and Baikal markings. Another variant of this is the 10-round double-stack Makarov, which was also made by Izhmech."
I have seen them locally at gunshops for $200 to $250. The military surplus ones are more expensive and are better guns. I have a Bulgarian and East German military surplus models. The Russian Military Makarov are hard to find and are very expensive. Seen them on gunbroker in the last week from $850 to $1000.
wow, have you been living in the cave for the past 50 years?
I'm amazed that someone can't recognize PM.
just kidding about the cave , but seriously i'm amazed.

I carry an East German Makarov (chambered in 9x18) almost exclusively in the Summer months. It's one of the most simple, rugged, reliable, accurate and inexpensive mid-sized auto's ever designed. Ammo is dirt cheap too, though tough to find sometimes.
a little on the havier side becaus of all-steel construction... but if you have a good holster and good belt, no problem. although i sil prefer my g17 or sr9.
