I was over at M&M yesterday picking up some hollow points and "meat gazing" (to quote ChetD), I was thinking about a 10/22 as my next purchase, but then I saw the 15/22 and decided that would be next, but I wanted to get the opinions of some of the more experienced guys here.

I like it from the stand point that it's very AR-15 like (being former military, the M-16 has a special place in my heart) and that it shoots .22lr, which is far more economical, plus it's only $490 there at M&M.

Thanks for any input guys.

(Please, no PM's from dealers telling me they have one, I like to support my local shop when ever possible, always worth the few extra bucks)

I just got one and like it a lot. Put 200 rds through it the other day. A lot cheaper than 200 rds of .223. It's lighter than a normal AR but still handles fine. I will be building it up like my USPSA competition rifle so I will be able to practice for cheap money w/ regards to ammo. Definite 'buy' recommendation.

what is the availability of the extra 10 round mags, when I first started reading about the MP 22 on AR15.com late 09, Xtra mags where tough to get 10rnd ones even harder. Also the cost seemed high by my memory. I went with the Tactical Solutions upper for 499.00 shipped and 1 mag from gun kings. Love it. Bought 5 mags from blackdogmachine on sale 20.00each.
AR15.com has a lot of feedback on these....a little more on rimfirecentral.com about 50/50 from what I read??

I picked one up from Four Season not long ago. I've only put 100 rounds down the barrel so far and I have to say - I love this rifle. It is truly fun to shoot. And, it does shoot well (for me, that is). It will give my 10/22 a rest for a bit.

Came stock with a single 10 round mag. Haven't priced addl. mags as of yet though. Can't wait to start accessorizing it a bit, starting with some optics...
