S & W .22lr AR-15

I handled one at Riley's the other day. Feels like a toy because it's definitely lighter than a similar AR due to the polymer receivers, but should be fun to shoot. Appears that the fire control group is the same as the AR so you should be able to use whatever trigger you wish.

Actually, the Colt version is the one made by an airsoft company.

it is made by Walther. i have heard that is made in the same place as the gsg5 but i can't find any hard facts to support this claim. Umarex is the parent company that owns walther. onthe other hand, my Walther p99 says Smith & Wesson on the slide..I'm so confused....

The Colt version is manufactured by Walther in Germany...not by GSG and is imported to the US by Umarex I don't believe Umarex has an ownership in Walther at all. I read this in the American Rifleman, September issue where they review the new Colt Tactical 22.

Decent review too...same issues as with any 22...feeding based on the ammo used. For $600 I'm still thinking twice. Now you can find a GSG5, GSG AK, Colt Tactical, soon the S&W and Sig all in 22lr. Now just wait for the first ones to get out there and the prices to start falling...I hope! [thinking]

The Colts don't feel like they have aluminum receivers. They're metal, but it feels lighter than aluminum.

I'm not sure you can beat Spikes or, just below them, Model 1. These new clones just don't have the true heft and feel of ARs, and you can't convert them to centerfire in a pinch.

Yes they feel more like the alloy on the gsg5 surely not a true forged ar lower.

This is what i'm leaning to. i think a dedicated upper is the way to go for my needs. I like the idea of having the same feel as my centerfire ar's.
