S&W 586 made on both L and N frame sizes ???

I recently researched the model 586 in the newest edition of the Fjestad Blue Book (33rd edition), it shows the 586 Distinguished Combat Magnum as being an L frame. Which is correct. I have one.
What's curious is that it also shows the 586 Classic Distinguished Combat Magnum as being an N frame. ???
Is this a typo or did S&W really use the same model number on two different frame sizes. ???

It has to be a typo. The 586's are L-framed revolvers.

Mine's mid 90's manufacture and it's an L frame

Mine is an L frame and I've never seen one that wasn't. Call S&W and ask.

No such thing as a 586 N frame.
