Would a Police Trade in 5906 be transferable into MA? I think this might fall into a weird category as the approved roster has the 5906, but the TSW version.

Unless it was on the roster OR in the state before 1998, I don't think you can transfer it in. Or rather, I don't think you'd find a dealer willing to take the risk since the dealer, not you, would be on the hook for the fine.

That's a guess and I expect that someone with a better grasp of the issue might jump in.

That's also why I don't have any plan to sell my 5906.

Find the serial number call and ask S@W what the manfac. Date was . Proceed from there. Also of youre getting it from a place like cdnn make sure they are eve sn willing to send it to mass in the first place

They are in fact on the list, and being S&W, they were in state prior to 98. Guess I will call around and ask.

5906 is one of the best 9mms for the money. Out of the box, with no modifications, it is superior to the SIG 226.

If it's on the EOPS list and it was made prior to the '98 AG reg BS, it doesn't matter if it was in MA or not. It being owned by a MA resident prior to '98 is only of importance if it's not on the EOPS list.

It is not on the list the 5906TSW is if it is just a 5906 and if it was not owned in the state prior to 1998 it is not a gun that can be legally transferred by a dealer. However you may find some dealers that will ignore this.
