I have a BG; never had this issue. What's poking up, the laser cover screw? Have not heard of the issue, but after changing the batteries I was told to put some lock tight on the screw...
I have a few hundred rounds on my BG without issue.
That "thing" looks to me to be the laser cover screw that came loose and has been worn flat. As mentioned above, a bit of Loctite on it cures the problem. Been multiple reports of it working loose. I Loctited mine when I bought it and have had no issues with it loosening.
I had a bg for a couple months before trading it for a revolver. This did happen to me. The issue with that screw is the unbelievably small hex key that it uses (it should have come in the box with the gun) . You really want to put some blue loctite on the screw, but I am not sure you can get it out if you do. I tgink you would break or bend the hex key. It became a regular part if the cleaning process to re tighten that screw. This is a pretty common issue on the interwebs. It is also one of tge reasons i got rid of the bg. What good is a 380 low stopping power weapon when it is not ultra reliable for multiple shots?
Of the two people I know that have bg380's both of them have had issues with that screw. One to the point that it locked the gun up completely and had to go to a smith to get it apart
