I recently bought a 1990 N frame 625. I have had a JM 625 so I am pretty familiar with the design, or at least ones made after 2005. When I disassembled the revolver I noticed the bolt block was missing as well as the pin on the trigger assembly that moves the bolt block. The frame does have the slot where the BB would go.

The revolver has had spring changes and trigger work done on it, and it is very smooth with double action coming in at 7 1/2 lbs which is exactly what my JM is with a factory light spring kit. Question is, did this 625 come with the bolt block or was it removed as well as the pin on the trigger assembly during a trigger job? I have found the parts online if it should be there originally, or is it really necessary or was it a gov mandated safety item. BTW, I do understand what the function of the bolt block is. Thanks.
