I am considering the purchase of a new 627 V-comp 8 or 327 M&P Trr8. This would be a first hand gun purchase and of course these aren't inexpensive. I believe the V-comp is new for 2008, would any one offer comments/suggestions? Also, when purchasing, what can I expect with regard to dealer negociation off MSRP?

You might want to check out the seven shot 686, for about half the price of the 627 Vcomp. I have 686s in both 6" and 8-3/8" and they are very good revolvers.
I believe that the usual discount on S&W is about 30%.
