ok time to buy a new carry piece in .40

i know i've read all the threads and watched all the youtube videos but i'm looking for your input. i know the shield is popping up more in the area so i figure a new thread will have some new owners chiming in.

i like the idea of the compact over the shield for obvious reasons. higher capacity, no thumb safety, extra barrel in 9mm (not too big of a deal) all that happy jazz. i tried one with a crossbreed yesterday and it was amazing, like i wasn't even carrying. way better than my 1911 obviously.

i like the idea of the shield because it's slimmer and i'm looking for something to carry all the time. i don't want to leave it home because it's not convenient.

i guess the question is for those of you that have both what you do prefer? for those that carry the M&PC do you carry all the time? do you find it prints at all? is it small enough for summer carry?

i'm going to go with a crossbreed supertuck with either gun so comfort is going to be great. i'm more worried about concealment.

thanks in advance guys. i'll be hitting the store tomorrow to hopefully pick up one or the other (fingers crosses that they get the .40 shield in stock)

I had a m&p40c and the 40fs. you can carry either one of those with the right clothes. I used a crossbreed super tuck and really it concealed quite well with just a loose t-shirt. It also shot very well too. I did sell it because I bought a block 26 and moved from 40 to 9 and the glocks were better for me. I was much more accurate. I have had no experience with the shield, and my guess is it would be really great in the summer. Come winter you can conceal just about anything you want.

i never hated carrying the "wide body" guns until i started carrying a slim one & now havent looked back. i carried a full size glock iwb for years and no one every noticed but it was heavy and a bit nerve-racking that someone might see it. to me, the slim body guns print much less and carry more comfortably. i handled a shield for the 1st time last night and it seems very similar to the pps but a little more refined (other than a garbage trigger). if i were to buy a slim .40 that'd be the one. i like to pocket carry (kahr pm9) but if i was going .40 iwb for an every day carry, the shield looks like itll do the trick for a more reasonable $. you want to be proficient with your carry but comfort is key. if it isnt comfortable, you are less likely to carry it.
