Ah..... brings back memories of me shooting my first pistol in... 2008? Some steel framed SW in 9mm with some rake to the slide. My dumbass put my thumb straight up but not against the slide. just far enough for it to slam my thumb and scrap flesh off. And the excitement of shooting the pistol and the adrenalin made me not realize I had shaved my thumb down through the pad to the bone. I still finished the box of ammo.

Those poor guys at SW, there was blood everywhere, including in the slide.
