so i got to borow a ruger redhawk 44mag from a freand to go bear hunting with this weekend. took it to do i bit of shooting with today and i still have a big grin on my face thats for sure. what a nice gun, it's had a trigger job and is topped with a great leupold scope. it could get pretty expensive to shoot a lot but how cant you!! i think i want one.[smile]

Sounds like a (literal and figurative) blast! Can't believe I haven't shot one yet... Must do soon!

I have quite a few guns, many much more "useful" than my ruger super blackhawk .44. Out of all my guns, tactical, auto, etc.. This super blackhawk is one of my favorite shooters. Always makes me smile.

44 mag is a riot. I just traded for a 629 5 inch. My 12 year old was shooting some light loads with power pistol and some not so light loads with 2400 this weekend.

Figured we would shoot a few and save some .... Nope. He giggled his ass off everytime the with the muzzle blast and flames from the hot loads.

I shot the desert eagle 10inch in 44mag for my birth day, so much fun shooting 44mag ... I got a burn scar from stand to close to my brother when he was shooting it ...
Every time I wash my face and see that little scar I can't help but smile..

Send it!

First time I shot a .44 was a Ruger Redhawk. It was a ton of fun to shoot but I never bought myself a .44. I guess I just like the sound of ".45" better.

I have a Smith and Wesson Model 629 and it is definitely my favorite gun in the safe. If I didn't reload, I don't think I would be able to afford to shoot it but it comes to the range every time.

I can't justify buying one because they sure are a shit ton of fun to shoot.. and those long barrel blackhawks are amazingly easy to shoot accurately. We were popping off some apples at 25 yards with ease.

There was an episode on the sportsmans channel recently, they were thinning doe's from a tree stand with one and dropping them where they stood every time.

i love 44 mag!
i've only shot 44 mags a few times. i really loved them though.
i would love a model 629 pre lock but the ruger super blackhawk is pretty sweet too.
maybe both.

i wish smith made a .454 N frame

I've got a 329PD 4" Magna Ported that is awesome to shoot, got it for my trip to Alaska, it's going on the market shortly at a great price.
