So took the Ruger LCR 357 to the range today. Love this thing. I had the .38 and shot great with it. I shoot great with this one too. The trigger is even better. Packs a punch but I can make contact with what I'm shooting at and make my fallow ups. Thinking about the hi viz sight for it. I didn't go past 30ft but I was ringing my small plate. Says mine was made in NH I don't recall my .38 saying that and I had no clue they had a plant there.

Have you thought about installing the hi viz or night sights? I installed the hi viz sights on my Ruger GP100 and what a huge difference it made in my target acquisition and accuracy. Just curious what the opinions are for the LCR hi viz sight.

I put an XS big dot on my LCR and I really can't get used to that big ass dot out front and accuracy suffers with this pistol. Not that this pistol is a target gun or a range gun. It is a defensive pistol but I don't do well with it and that huge dot. I need to try something different. I'm to used to the standard blade and notch sight picture I guess. Might have to try the hi viz.

Yes that's what I'm thinking. I like the pictures I've seen of the sight picture with the hi viz. I know they have the standard dot size too but I'm liking the green hi viz.

They have plants in Newport NH and Prescott AZ. I believe they have a corporate headquarters in CT maybe too? Not sure.

Yes. They've been in NH for 40 years.

There are only 13 people left in Southport CT. Its very sad. CT has effectively Run ruger out of CT. Not with gun laws, but with generally anti-business practices. One of the worst was a new law in the 90s that applied a property tax to manufacturers works in progress.

Its just the executive staff. As recently as the early 90s they still made the Mk II there. Then that went away. Then around 2000 they tried doing factory custom engraving. That was in Southport but didn't last long.

My guess is that when this CEO finishes, the next one will be based out of NH.

Put a Hi viz sight on my GP 100 4" and it not only helped my accuracy but made it so much more fun to shoot, no more squinting even after an hour of shooting.
