Sort of the newb question but I'm sure someone here would know. I've always had a set of factory chokes so this never was an issue. Since I purchased a new shotgun that did not come with a set of chokes, I was wondering if anyone knew if Mossberg 500/535 chokes/threads are interchangeable with any others such as Remington or any others.

I think they have what is called accu-choke tubes and I know these are not interchangeable with the accu-mags for the 835 but I don't know if the choke tubes from say a 1187 or 1100 will work in the Mossbergs.

Thanks for any input.

Thank you for that. Much appreciated.

Looks like Winchester, Browning and Mossberg are similiar

Mossberg: [EXCEPT 835 & 935, SA-20 and Silver / Onyx series] interchanges with Trulock's Win-Brn-Moss style.

Careful, some Winchester use Browning Invector chokes, the style used in older brownings. New Browining's use Invector Plus that wont fit and Invector choked gun.

It's very confusing and you really have to be careful. Browning has 3 styles, Beretta 2 and there are a whole host of others.

Beretta has 4...

Mobilchoke
Optimachoke
Optima Plus
Optima HP

None of them are interchangeable.
