These days 99% of my practice time is spent in my basement as opposed to the range, for about 6 hours of dryfire per week. I'm getting kind of bored with my routine so I'd love to see what other people are doing so I can change things up a bit and learn new things. Specifically, post some video with a description (# targets, distance, par times, etc.) of the drills you do.

Here's one I was doing tonight. Facing uprange, wrists above shoulders, turn then draw and fire two shots each on the lower A-zones of two metric targets, reload, and fire two more shots on each target. Only A-zone hits count. Target distance is 6 yards, about 4 feet apart center to center. Par time 3.0 seconds.

If anyone can beat that, show me how it's done so I can push myself. If you can't, post the video and get constructive feedback.

I set up the same drill. Same time with 1/3 targets closer in. Kinda lethargic, but then again its been about a year since I have dry fired. Took a couple practice runs to figure out what was going on, didn't have any dummy rounds, so I used live ones [grin]

Had to use a limited gun since I don't have an IDPA gun

Now I don't need to dry fire for another year

You guys are making me feel guilty. Damn I haven't even live fired that much lately. Not many matches for the rest of the year makes my drive go away a bit. Plus house chores doesn't help any either.

Here's a tough drill from Ben Stoeger's dryfire book. It's the "Reload Challenge" with a par time of 4.5 seconds. It's a good test that you're gripping the mag correctly and seeing the mag into the magwell.
