OK... first and foremost, I really do like the Sig 232. It is a natural shooter for me. I have been accurate with it since day one. It fits my hand well. It is built like a tank. It conceals well. There is a lot to like!

Now the RANT... there is a shitty little spring clip in there that holds the slide catch lever in place. When disassembling for a cleaning this thing almost always falls out and travels across the room. I spend 20 minutes finding the damn thing every time!

Am I alone here? Should I seek professional help???

[grin]

I've enjoyed shooting my 232 and while I've never had one of the "slide catch lever springs" shoot across the room I did have it break on me.

I called SIG to purchase a couple of springs so I'd have a back up for the next time it broke and was told that I had to place a minimun order of $25. So I told her to send me $25 worth of this spring. A few days later a couple of springs showed up no charge. [grin]

That is FUNNY!

Heading to the range now with the son to shoot the 232 and other toys. Just feel like whacking a metal plate with bullets right now.

I know the exact spring you're talking of, and yes, it does that to me too.

Thank you varchar2... maybe we should start a private group to discuss this issue? [grin]

Just back from the range... the 232 is just such a natural shooter for me... just like an extension of my hand.

But there really is a significant difference between .380 and 9mm when hitting a swinging metal plate at about 50 feet. The 9mm gets the plate swinging a fair bit, but the .380 but about moves it. And the .45 gets the plate really moving.

Thanks,

Rich

Hey Rich, you're right about the P232 being a great pointer. Very comfortable and natural. I've shot all kinds of different rounds through it, but the one round that stands out as being great, and I was surprised about this, was a WWB (I think from Walmart, not positive) with a flat-top bullet. For some reason they seemed like a perfect match, and accuracy was much better for me with that round than any other.

It's just gods way of punishing you for buying something chambered in .380 ACP. [laugh]

I had a P232 but mine did the same thing at least once or twice. The thing stung my hand too much so I got rid of it. I'd rather fire an S+W .500 magnum than a .380, it hurts
less.

I don't have a problem with my hand stinging with the 232. I hit the target and follow up shots are quick and easy. The damn S&W 442 kicks the crap out of my hand. I dislike shooting that beast. Of course... I have been shooting +P ammo... maybe I should try straight .38 ammo.

I was shooting the WWB flat-top yesterday, and you are right. Stuff was very accurate and consistent.

Best,

Rich
