Have had it on order since July....finally came in. Direct from the factory in Germany. Was a "special order" item only....could not be ordered any other way.

Broke it down for initial cleaning and saw a heavy-duty recoil spring along with a multi-faceted guide designed to reduce recoil and muzzle jump. Trigger is fully adjustable for weight and travel. Found that I needed to adjust nothing....just made sure travel was locked in and would not creep. "Surprise" shots with this piece should be the norm. "Sensitive" is putting it mildly. Dry firing surprised me every single time....so far. Could not find my trigger weight discs, but it feels like about 3 Lbs,,,or slightly less. That's fine with me. [grin] Hope to get it to the club this week for zeroing and break-in.

Found that I had to use a Dremel tool to "carve" out the indentation under the slide stop. The wood was so thick that two thumbs would not release the stop. No problem, plenty of wood to work with. After "carving", its as slick as you would want. Actual firing/testing will hopefully happen this week.

Sidenote.....in the pics I used some of my "stash" of military ACP going back to '84' to hold the piece up. No, they were not empty boxes. Yes, they will be used up next season....in the X-6. [grin] Have to dig deeper and deeper into the stash to still have fun. [rofl]

Pics attached......

WOW. Suddenly I don't like you! Envy is an ugly sin but I can't help myself.

Can wait to hear how you like it on he range. That will probably send me into a 3-day funk.

Ray, that gun is drool-worthy.... I'd love one of those to beat up some bowling pins with!

Gorgeous pistol. How long before you need to redo the flourescent orange on the front sight?

Have no idea. Use a base coat of "Testor" gloss white and add the flourescent orange over that. Have used this combo on a Kimber, a different Sig, (P226 Blackwater) a couple of S&W's and a .22 rifle. For my eyes only, this combo seems to work out just great. The rear sight(s) on mine are Testor gloss white. Front is the white base with orange overlay. The color combo seems to work for me....and for my eyes.

Note: Testor does make "flourescent" in different colors. Whatever color chosen for the front, I would recommend a "base coat" of white. Example....the orange over standard black front is definitely not the same as the orange over a base coat of gloss white. It doesn't have the "highlight" and is dull/dim.

Maintenance is minimal. Have found that a cotton swab w/water will clean off any firing residue on the front. One end wipes, the other drys. Hell, if push comes to shove, its no biggie to start from scratch....just get rid of the paint. For older eyes, the paint is a plus. Basics still need to be there, paint or not. Only me, but have found that the front paint is a "guide". Still looking for the "daylight" on either side and still trying to be as precise as possible. Again....only me. [wink]

Thank you Mike. If I see you again at Wallum, you are welcome to give it a feel and a try. I think you have an X-5? Same feel, same grip, same hold...just .45 ACP. Am looking forward to zeroing and breaking in. Yup, I'm "tickled". [wink]

whats up with the silver & orange testors enamel on the sights?

Rear is Testor gloss enamel white. Front is orange. This suits my eyes. Different strokes for different folks. Others may have different combos that work for them. Its an individual thing. [grin]

Hey, knuckle dragger....how can you not relate to a fellow dragger? My arms are so long that my knuckles are constantly raw....just from the concrete and asphault. Give me wooded terrain anytime. It saves skin. [wink]

Don't be envious.....we all work for what we have....until some agency tells us that we "might" have "too much" and it needs to be redistributed. Grin, sure....just try and take the X-6 away. [wink]

great photos. thanks for sharing. that is one fine looking firearm. cant wait to hear or see how it shoots for you. fwiw....i recently got the ruger p345 45 acp and it shoots great. its more accurate than i am right now but i havent shot it too much yet. only about 500 rounds or so right after i got it. i will be getting back to the range (with drs approval or without) this coming weekend.

Thank you and good shooting with your new Ruger. Have all winter to zero and "feel". Looking forward to next year's plates with this piece. Will be using all 230gr. FMJ so it will be interesting to see how things turn out. Will be zeroing and practicing on an indoor range using lead. The jump should be minimal. Age and the older eyes will certainly be a factor. Whatever....still can't wait. [wink]

Very, very nice!

I recently got a 226 Elite Stainless that doesn't quite compare, but it'll keep me content for awhile.

Thank you. Am becoming a real Sig convert. Have a "Blackwater" (226) that is dead on at 30-40 ft. Also have a 220 "Equinox" that I put their Laser/strobe unit on. The piece itself functions flawlessly, the strobe is blinding (had it pointed at me so I could see what the recipient sees)...unmounted of course. The laser is dead on....once you ignore the manual. Had a bitch of a time trying to zero it...using plain white paper to see where things went. At first was confused, then realized that adjustments had to be the opposite of the manual. Bottom line....zeroing the laser is the same as a conventional rear sight...not what the manual indicates. The entire config. is super to me. Laser/strobe is on the bottom and out of the way. Iron sights never get obstructed or impeded. Love it.

Yup, guess you could say I'm a convert. [wink]
