HI,

I have googled, search Sig Sauer web site and still scratching my head.

Can anyone tell me the difference between these three models, there is not much difference in price. All three are MA compliant and look relatively the same, going to go tonight and take a look but would be nice to get some information beforehand.

Thanks

Harry

Aesthetically, the furniture is different on them all.
Looking at the specs, they all seem to be the same assuming they are using the same pieces, i.e, triggers, BCG's, charging handles......

EDIT: I want to add that I would never pay what they are asking for these rifles. I'd rather build my own to my own specs and desires.

Only difference is the front hand guard on the seat and MOE furniture on the enhanced other than that it's a mil spec rifle with out a muzzle device.
Your paying for a stock you can't use as intended and a flip up sight that you may or may not like?
As stated you could build a much better rifle for what these cost. SIG really needs to stress why these are more than most basic ARs. being SIG isn't enough for me.

Thanks for the feedback.

My Son and I went to a dealer last night that as all three in stock. There was only 26$ difference between the M400 and SWAT so we decided to go with the SWAT.

We will pick it up over this weekend. From what I understand you can build an AR with better components and cheaper, however we're complete novices only just receiving our licensees.

We wouldn't even know where to start so this a good way to get into the sport and learn. We looked at the M&P Sport which is about half the price but it felt cheap.

We are taking it slow and talking extra classes eventually we will look at building our own AR but thats a way off. We joined MFS range last night which is limited to pistol caliber but a good place to start. We're working on joining Hopkington Sportsmans Association as well where we can practice with the AR.

The M400 SWAT is more for my son to shoot, of course always under my supervision, we may pick up a cheap 22 AR for plinking as well.

Personally I'm interested in the new Ruger Precision Rifle and will at some point look seriously at that. I'm also getting into reloading as the process interest me.

For future reference, where is a good place to start learning about AR15 internals and builds DVD's, Books, Sites.

Once again thanks for the feedback.

YouTube how to build an AR lower, and upper. I 'built' both mine and I'm a novice. I only put together the lower, and bought a complete upper because of the tools required. It's really easy.

I'd get a 10/22 or similar 22,just because it's cheaper. But if you can afford the ar 22's go for it.

Looks like you need a pistol now! Good luck!

If you picked up a sig and a M&P blindfolded I doubt you could tell the difference.
Being AR noobs you might be better off with a M&P sport and 2k rounds of ammo.....but that's just me.

Please be sure to give us a good range report on the sig.

As for guides I found this to be a good starter. Scroll down to bottom
Of page to firearms guide. I have tools, headspace gauges and such if you want help if your local. See link below.

Also have you tried any ARs?

Another note a nice 22lr upper for your new purchase is a good option vs another rifle?

Thanks for the information and offer of assistance.

I took the day off work Friday and went up to Manchester firing line with my son. We rented a few AR's including the M&P Sport and the Sig Sauer M400 SWAT. We both liked the Sig Sauer M400 SWAT it felt better made and seemed to shoot better. We're both new so it was just a gut feeling, also these where both rental guns so they may have been a bit rough around the edges.

One concept we loved, adjustable stock, what a concept, we could both adjust to fit either of us in seconds. Of course we can not handle so much adjustment ease in MA so ours will be pinned.

I ended up ordering last night after midnight and will pick up the Sig Sauer SWAT from Mass Firearms either tonight or tomorrow. We got 5 free pro mags and 1 free Sig Sauer mag in with the deal.

I picked up 600 rounds of 223 from wally world (brass) while passing through Nashua last night.

Going to pick up the M&P 15-22 at some point in the near future. Cheap money for plinking.

Thanks for all the feedback and offers of help

If you buy what you like its hard to go wrong.....yes the pinned stock does suck although its not hard to readjust the stock and repin it if they dont use the long commercial tube like the M&P sport Ma model.
Good job test driving some models before you buy....this is a smart choice when it comes to guns.

The key here is its you and your son. The absolute best memories of time with my dad .....shooting and fishing

picked it up yesterday from MassFirearms, really nice AR. With their tax free incentives we got 5 free pro mags and 1 free sig sauer all 10 rounders of course. We will more than likely pick up a few pre-ban.

Keeping my eye open for a M&P 15-22, I notice one sold on here a few days ago for 300$.
