Picked up mosquito this past week and shot it on Saturday. Didnt plan on that particular handgun but I have to say I was very happy with the gun after about 300 rounds. The guns got a lot of meat for a 22cal and the folks at collector gallery were absolutely right when they said it liked CCI High Velocity better then bulk.

The gun does come with two springs though and the shorter one is for all ammo the one installed is longer for the HV. Point is that if you want a nice 22 cal that isnt a P22 and has good full size feel you might want to check it out.

Passed 300 rds of CCI - No fouling
Federal 300 rds - fouled 1 out of 10 rds (with fitted high velocity sping)

I have to believe that the issue that I read on some forums with poor performence in the earlier models was spring related. I changed to the shorter spring today and will retest next week.

Anyone have any other experience?[smile]

I have a sig mosquito and I absolutly love it. My only problem is that it is ammo picky and only really likes the CCI minimags. It will take feds with the second spring but not as great as the minimags. Perfect handgun for a .22 that is a workhorse. A lot of fun for a day at the range and comes along on hunts with me.

If your just out at the range shooting and you want to shoot cheap any HV ammo just ONE SHOT lube the cheap bulk rounds with some oil and they will shoot flawlessly all day long. The CCI shoot fine without it but I think I read somewhere that they have a lube on them.

I also never had a problem myself with the CCI. I do love the gun as well. Real fun and cheap to shoot!

+1 for the Mosquito, great .22 with a full size feel. More than half my range trips now are my SIG Mosquito and my GSG-5. Makes for an awesome day at the range.

Remington Gold something or others (hollow point HV copper coated, not jacketed) works well too and a lot cheaper. I paid $19 for 550 about 6 months ago.

Wow! I must have tried out a different model of the Mosquito Monday night. This one had the worst trigger I have ever experienced on a .22 pistol (or any pistol, for that matter). Long, heavy, pull, and gritty release.

You guys must have an improved version.

Mine is less then a year old and has around 10,000 rounds thorugh it. The tigger "loosens up" after some use. Just got a fabous holster for it. Perfect for range and when i'm hunting/hiking/or camping.

I've got a Mosquito that's only about 700 rounds old - a fun little shooter. It really likes MiniMags, works well (after about 400 MiniMags) with Federal bulk and the lighter spring. Glad I bought it.

What I'm not glad about is holster availability. Anyone run across any paddle or belt holsters, preferably in Kydex, in left hand?
