Anyone have any issues with this ammo and SW 9VE?
I fired over 400 rounds of Winchester without any problems. Bad day at work today so i wanted to shoot..Stopped by Dicks and picked up a couple hundred rounds of UMC and had 4 FTE's..

Is this ammo really crap?

I have a Sigma SW9F (the original Sigma) and although at first it wouldn't eat anything, it functions pretty well now besides angle of ejection.

no what I was saying is it is probably the Sigma..... I owned an original Sigma in 40... I didn't have a single problem ..after doing a jeweler massage to the feed ramp!

UMC ran great through my old G17. It easily ate over two cases from Dick's over the past few years. How you checked to make sure the extractor is not chipped?

Stripped it last night after posting all looks fine. Im gonna head back to the range tonight and check it out. I have a feeling it might just be the ammo as there was no problems with the Win White Box at all.

I would guess it is the ammo, never had any problem with my (wife's) sigma, but I have had problems with UMC. I have even posted pics on NES of messed up UMC casings right out of the box.

Thanks Mikey your post reminded me that when I was looking at the spend casings last night I did notice a odd warp to one of the casings..Im going to go with it is the ammo as I am sure I would have had a FTF or FTE within the first 400/500 rounds of White Box.

I've fired several boxes of 9mm UMC through my 3914 with no problem. I know it has a reputation of being "dirty" but it doesn't seem bad to me. I consider it nice, inexpensive practice ammunition.

I have personally seen at least ten instances of remington UMC from dicks like that. Most in 9mm and twice in .45. And in one of the rounds there wasn't any powder at all. I've also seen a bunch of rounds that were missing the primer all together. They're also wicked dirty, almost on par with ultramax. Like the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. Remington has slipped in the quality control with their ammo.[thinking]

I have shot a lot of UMC in 9mm and .45. Most of the time, although dirty, it worked fine. However, in certain guns it has been problematic. My wife's Beretta Storm carbine hates UMC, but works perfectly with any other brand. I used to have a Para Warthog .45 that just could not digest UMC.

All of the "bulk" grades of ammo out there seem to have some minor
issues...

A friend of mine found out that periodically, he'd get gypped one or
two rounds on a WWB 100 pack of 9mm.

One time he also found a piece of primed brass in the box but no
bullet or powder rolling around!

Yeah im just gonna chalk it up to ammo. Ill fire some more UMC tonight and monitor the siutation and try to pick up some WinWB this weekend and comare the two. Thanks for all the input.

might I suggest that you contact Remington and complain you might get some free ammo out of the deal. I purchased some PMC 45/70 ammo and some of the cases were badly mangled. Contacted PMC they had me send back the defective ammo and sent me 3 boxes
as a replacement. you've nothing to lose and a a lot to gain

Well went through about 150 UMC tonight and many FTE including one so bad it jammed up my slide. Took me about 10 nervous minutes trying to get it out which i finally did. there was nothing wrong with the case looks wise so i dont know what the hell the deal was..i had about 50 or so Win WB left over and tore through each of them with no issues at all. So no more UMC for me..

I have found 9mm Winchester White Box is slightly longer than the OL of Remington.

This creates a problem for me in a high power that has a small magazine. When I use the shorter Remington, it works great.

You might have the opposite problem. Maybe you need the extra length of the WWB for good feed into your chamber, while riding low enough to prevent your FTE.

Just a hunch.
