Slugs in O/U?

I would assume you can, but for a short 250 you can get an H&R ultra slug gun that will open a door at 200 yards. I have both an o/u and a slug gun. To me they are just two diffrent guns.

Can you? - Sure.

Would I? - I would prefer not to.

Slug barrels are usually built heavier than your typical O/U for that reason. If you do decide to shoot slugs out of a screw choke barrel (or fixed choke), make sure you are running a Cylinder choke. Too much choke restriction and you will destroy the barrel, usually by shooting the choke out of it, threads and all!

If you shoot slugs make sure it is an open choke such as cylinder or improved cylinder.

I was always told Cylender to improved Cylender for slugs out of smooth bore barrels.
Then again if the slug will drop into the muzzle it should come out with no problems.??

Unless you are shooting some very heavy slugs, as long as you are shooting the apropriate shell size all should be well.

As noted I prefer my 870 slug barrel both smooth or rifled depending on ammo.
Its shorter and lighter than my O/U.

Personally I never seen slugs heavier than 1 1/8oz for 2 3/4shells 12g??? no different than target loads I have reloaded a few slug shots. Data I used had the shell pushing the high 10K psi barrel range.
