[STRIKE]I have a 3914 and a 6906 and I noticed today that the 6906 has an ambidextrous safety/decocking lever while the 3914 has it only on the left side of the frame. Normally, I wouldn't pay attention to this but my daughter went shooting today for the first time and used the 3914. She shot well with it, actually she shot well in general, but got bit by the hammer when she decocked the 3914. The reason for this is that she's a lefty and the safety is a bit awkward to use because she reached across with her right hand while holding the pistol in her left.
All of which leads me to ask if anyone knows if any 3914s were made with the ambidextrous safety? Or, can it be retrofitted since the slide has a cut out on the right side of the slide where it would go.[/STRIKE]
Never mind, I found the answer. Apparently I have one of the few 3914s without an ambidextrous safety.
