Hello All,

I'm looking to purchase a New Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm Carry and Range Kit. This will be a cash transaction.

Awaiting my Mass. LTC Class A No- Restriction begining of October, plus on Vacation week of September 24-thru October 3rd.

Any and all help from dealers would be appreciated.

What is your question? Where to go to find one, or go to look at one? Have you even looked at any of the local gun shops web sites yet? With out having your LTC yet, they won't even let you look at them in most shops anyway. Best thing to do is look at fourseasons, northshore firearms, or original bobs here in the northshore. That should help you!

Charles.

Agreed. I have not bought one from them but according to their website Fourseasons sells a LOT of these. Should be able to get a decent price there.

Right now they only have 40 I think, I bought my 40 there for 495 they had a deal last winter. They will get more. Pullman arms Worcester has a couple I think,

The M&P is a great gun. I own a full size for IDPA and a compact for carry. No bad experiences, well over 5000 rounds down range. Try before you buy is the best recommendation I was given. Maybe you have already. Bob's in Salibury had the full size and compact, last time I was there, that you can rent to shoot.

If you like the M&P shop around. I bought both of mine at NSFA and am very happy dealing with them, but money talks. Look for the best deal, including the classifieds here on NES.

I think you'll like the M&P platform!!

Best of luck!!!

Hey All,

Thanks for the input. I have gone to Bob's in Salisbury and now my favorite getaway from Wife!! Rented all M&P firearms there, and felt I liked the 9mm best for IWB . Another reason, I will be getting the M&P Shield and full size 9mm , ammo for both easier.

I have talked with both NSFA, and Four Seasons, neither have stock on both M&P's, Plus awaiting my LTC due in first week of October, so timing for everything will be next month. The wait for LTC is a Slow process, but in Rowley Mass. where I applied, was bumped to class A, instead of the usual B-Ram status.

New to NES, someone mentioned a M&P platform, I will look into this. Happy Shooting to all.

Be prepared to get a trigger job on your MP, all my buddies have one and the apex is a night and day difference

How did you like the shield? Did you get to shoot it?

Yes to firing the Shield, I was actually more accurate with it, than the Full 9mm or the M&P 45. On the Apex trigger, I will rather go to BEC in Peabody and have Lou do It right. Have heard great things about Business End Customs.

+1...

The M&P 9 Range Kit was my first handgun purchase after getting my LTC-A ($500 for gun, case and extras, what's not to like?) I do like it, but with the 10 lb. pull I didn't start shooting decent with it until I had Lou at Business End Customs do a trigger job on it. Now it shoots better than my Glock 22, which I like a lot.

The speed loader that comes with the range kit is nice to have, but the holster and 2-clip carrier are just meh. Note that the 10-round mags are tight (at least on mine) and that last round is hard to jam in there. Also, a full mag is hard to seat in the weapon if you don't have the action open, in case you want to load 10+1 for HD or something.

my friend and I just bought the m&p range kits from four seasons on tax free weekend......525 is what we paid. Mine was hitting me in the head and right shoulder with ejected rounds, so, sent it back to S&W after my first range session, still waiting to get it back...................also, .we don't like the triggers....should we attempt the trigger jobs ourselves, or go somewhere locally ? four seasons recommended the place in tewksbury, said it would be 70 bucks, but, we live on the south shore (plymouth and bourne) from what i have gathered there are different types of trigger jobs for this pistol, what would u guys recommend?

The place in Tewksbury, is called business end customs, but he is now located in peabody I believe. He does a great job and well worth the money.

Lotsip, I just got an m&p range kit myself from four seasons and you are correct the trigger sux to say the least, but I ended up ordering the Apex duty/carry kit had it in 2 days and bought a set of cheap pin punches for $7.00 and had it installed in less than an hour. It is a super simple job to do. This is my first gun and have only had it apart 3 times to clean it.
It is a night and day difference in the way it shoots. Well worth the $89. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks, got my pistol back yesterday, woo hoo. S&W enclosed a sheet that said they replaced the barrel to correct the ejection problem. Will try it again at the range tomorrow, i am psyched !

Ya, my buddy and I will probably make a decision whether to get the apex kit or go with Lou in Peabody(i guess thats where he moved to)........question....does Lou replace any parts?

I can't say from experience if they change out parts, my guess would be no they modify your parts. The apex kit was so simple to install and only required minimal tools, a hammer and a pin punch nothing else was required and you still have your original parts in case you decide you don't like it or want to change back. Good luck.

ya, i kinda like the idea of the apex kit for that reason (if i wanna change back), moreso than parts being altered, or whatever they do......which might be irreversible
