Anyone have any experience with the newly MA Legal S&W Bodyguard .380 ACP. Looks to be a solid firearm. Small and easy to conceal I would imagine.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all.

ive had mine since june...it beats out my keltec p3at and ruger lcp hands down...only gun it doesnt beat is my kahr pm380

slide lock, safety, integral laser and actual sights...for the money cant beat it

I held one today over at First Defense Firearms. One thing that jumped out at me was the short magazine extension. Either my hands are too big or the magazine extension is just too short. There was no way for me to put my pinkie on the grip, thus the gun felt awkward with the grip being held by just two finders. I would have to shoot it to see if that would indeed be a problem.

Other than that I think the gun is great. Although, what's the deal with only one magazine included with the gun? Come on S&W. Is it really too much trouble to include an extra mag?

A friend of mine is a gunwriter. He had the .38 and .380 Bodyguards in for an article and I got a chance to shoot them.

The .38 is OK, sorta, the .380 (assuming it proves long term durable and reliable) is going to be THE .380 pocket pistol IMHO.

The grip has a good secure texture. The slide is Melonited so it won't rust. The gun has REAL sights, sights that you can actually see. Decent true DA type DAO trigger (as in with re-strike capability, not that I think it's good to take multiple whacks at a bad primer, but this makes dry fire MUCH easier).

Small, light, but with just enough mass and a good grip design to take the snap out of shooting the gun.

The Kel Tecs and Ruger LCP start to sting my carpal tunnel after a few rounds. The S&W I shot about 100 rounds through, mostly ball but also quite a few Cor Bon 90gr JHP. Even with the Cor Bon the little gun was very tame.

I want one to test further, so far I like it.

Be sure when purchasing this firearm you receive the updated/newest version. The original design of the laser button was much like the head of an eraser and would rub off in a holster. The firearm has since been updated with a different type of polymer and is flush, protecting it from being damaged in a holster.

I have yet to fire the 380, still waiting for the next shipment to arrive! From all videos, blogs and reviews I read/viewed the Smith and Wesson will be one of the best in it's class! Especially for price!

There were a lot of problems with early models serial EAA, some EAB but now they are up to EAF. Thats what I am buying.
