So I'm watching Channel 7 last night about the Pellet gun shots at cars on Rt 3

Yep that's it....close enough I suppose, for TV news...pellet gun=Mauser, BB Gun=Fully automatic AR-15....all the same thing

I can't believe I spent 30 years in that miserable trade

I think that looks more like an M1 Garand. Pause the video and take a good look.
