Original (not replica) Japanese WWII-era Army NCO Type 32, model 1899 Otsu sword. Single edge blade with a flat spine (katana type), the ricasso stamped with serial number 128707, steel handguard with the head pommel, metal, and wooden checked grip, locking catch present and working, with scabbard that has been repainted. Blade length 30 ½”, Total length 35 ¾”. All in very good condition.
N.B: The yellow spots on the blade are oil. The brown spot on the ricasso near the guard is dried mixed oil and paint.
