I have looked around the web/eBay and keep coming across the same junk. Does anyone know of a source that offers stag, exotic wood, or "ivory" type grips? Apologies if this has been covered before, but I couldn't find a thread that really covered this.

Also, does anyone know a craftsman in the area (MA) who could make the grips custom from scratch?

Many thanks!

you might check on etsy.com for somebody who makes custom 1911 grips.. there are some really neat ones on there and they might be willing to make something for you for the 238.

P238 Grip Suggestions

I have a couple of recommendations. Highfiguregrips.com I bought this pair of Elder Burl. Jon is a great craftsman. Fit is perfect. What you see on the site is what you get.

Also, I have a pair of Honduran Rosewoods on order from http://shop.thefinergrain.com
Beautiful work as well.

I like mine. Got them from eBay. Along with a Kydex neck holster.

Good stuff...two very different styles but very cool.

Hooper - did that gun start off as an equinox or did you order just the equinox slide? I have heard Sig sells interchangeable slides but can't confirm. If so, I may look into that.

Nope, started life as an Equinox! Not only does the two tone look great, the FO sights are tremendous! Plus it's one of the models that comes out of the Sig Custom Shop (but I don't know if that means anything other than cosmetic changes). I do like the nickeled safety though. Came with the Equinox wood grips that were really nice but wanted to dress it up a little. Here's how it came out of the box
