Want to display your Garand's with style? Here you go...
A rare find: Springfield Armory (Springfield, MA) display case. Good condition. Case has its Springfield Armory Ordnance Inventory tag, and the case is numbered in three spots. (One number is on the side of the front in red, but I do not have a picture of it)
This was donated to our Masonic Lodge many decades ago. We have no idea on the age of construction. Glass panes all around (all original, we believe) except the left side, which was broken. One set of internal glass shelves are thicker than the smaller set.
There is a light, but unknown if it works. Some top glass pane corner-molding is broken, but otherwise I would say in good shape considering what moving, wear and tear this went through at the Armory
We used it as an archive display in our museum room. The Lodge has to move to a smaller location, and unfortunately, the case has to go, and we would like to sell it to someone who can appreciate its provenance.
It's not fiberboard, and it has some weight, so one person isn't moving it. This is a 3 - 4 man job to keep it intact. I do not see an easy way of pulling the back sliders to lighten the load, but hey, in the olden days, men with muscles were easier to come by.
Location: Warren, MA
Size: Approx 6' length x 2' width x 44" high
Price: Asking $375.00 cash or b/o.
Contact: PM please
Thanks for checking it out. /Eddie (Mods, if this should go into a different Forum, just let me know...Thx)
