Good evening,
Quick question about adjusting sights on a brand new Springfield Range Officer. I brought her to the range for the first time today. Started to put the first few rounds downrange and noticed that I had a great grouping but was 8" low. Prior to purchasing the 1911, I shot a Buckmark Camper and an XD9 exclusively; both 6 o'clock sights. I changed sight pictures to a more conventional sight picture and was still 2" low and just a tad left. I think the "left" is me being unfamiliar with the trigger but am almost convinced I need to adjust the rear site to bring the grouping up. I maintained a 2-3" grouping at 50 feet for the entire 50 rounds but that's a little loose compared to my XD9 or Buckmark.
Should I hold off making any adjustments until I get more rounds through the pistol?
My tentative plan was to shoot her from benchrest tomorrow to assess whether it's me or not. Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
Fitz
