Standard Capacity Magazines

I was discussing standard capacity magazines the other day and the other person mentioned that he thought that even if someone owns an 11, 12, 14 or whatever capacity magazine, the law restricts them to loading no more than 10 rounds.

I know that there is something like that in NY State with a limit of 7 rounds, but never heard of it in MA.

Is there anything in the MGLs about that or was he just mistaken or confused the NYS law with MA?
