I aquired a box of Winchester Super Steel 12 gauge shells. My question is can I safely shoot this out of my Mossberg 500 w/ factory chokes? Or do I need a choke tube specific for steel shot?

No problem. Shoot them. The only issue here is that you may want to open up the choke a bit as steel tends to shoot tight.

I find that steel tends to pattern the best with a modified choke in my Remington 870. Do not use steel in a fixed full choke! If you have screw-in chokes, use only those full chokes that are labeled "steel or lead".

Its got the screw-in chokes. I'll just have to remember to not shoot them through the full or turkey choke.....i'll have to put the improved cylinder choke in.

No issues if you like the pattern.

(Older fixed-choke 500 barrels aren't supposed to like it so much, though.)
