I bought my first Glock. First Generation.

The good news is that I am about as accurate with it as I am with any other gun. Very nice shooter.

My question is whether or not it is supposed to fling cases right back into my face.

Never had one so I don't know. I can deal with it, but the first time a hot
case hit me in the cheek it got my attention

Thanks

Wear a hat!

Have it checked out by a Glock armorer near you. FS has such a person (Jimmy) in their shop. Any PD that uses Glocks will have 1 or 2 officers trained as armorers as well.

Due to the obscene cost of shipping, when I had a problem I looked for a local solution. Don't mind paying for repair work (not required on Glocks), but do mind paying UPS or FedEx $50 just so that they have less opportunity to steal my gun!

I would have a local Glock armorer check it out and see if they find
anything obvious... but be aware that if they say "nothing is wrong" then
that isn't true- send it to the factory and they will fix it.

I kept getting beaned by my 17L, regardless of ammo used or recoil springs in
play... even replaced the extractor. I had it sent to the factory and when
it came back it was perfect.

This is a real problem

It turns out the guy I bought it from in NH is a smith and he said to bring it back up and he would take care of it
