Sturbridge Gun Show

I got there around 8:30 and left before noon.
It was asses and elbows when I left.
Picked up some of those rebuilt preban mags.
My buddy just about melted his charge card.

Did somebody mention a guy that usually has BO?
The room to the left was pretty warm.[rolleyes]

He does a good job on those mags I picked up a few. I was looking around the show and found some beat up pre bans. But for five dollars more I get completely rebuilt ones including new followers, how do ya go wrong.

Jason.

Showed up at 10:30am and the place was jammed. Parking was at a premium, long line to get in and then once in it was solid walls of people in every isle. It was near impossible to get close to the guns as everyone was pushing to get in to see what was available. Prices I saw were high as usual and I didn't see many sales going on. Definitely wasn't worth it and will most likely pass on this one in the future.

Hah,

I bought 3. Tried to only get 2 but he wanted to sell 3 at a time.
He gave me a mag pouch for being one of his first customers.

I noticed the beat up prebans that had the old followers. Without the anti tilt Magpuls they're useless, imo.

The Tombstone Booth in the center of the big room were selling ARs like crazy.
I didn't see a seat open at the paperwork counter.
Ammo was high priced. Definitely not worth the prices they were asking.

Picked up a nice 1905 Springfield Bayonet. I am hoping someone bought that 1903 A3 Smith Corona my friend was selling, I'm trying to avoid another purchase right now.

Worst Show I have been to not many modern firearms dealers. Not sure if this show is to close to Marlbourgh show and the usual larger dealers said screw it. Not to busy at 2pm best part was took a walk over to Village Hot Dog in Yankee Spirits and had some awesome dogs for lunch.

I found what I wanted... a Glock at a decent (for PRM) price.

I bought it for a winter project ( long slide race gun,) and moreso, just to thumb my nose at obama and his gangs of socialist thugs.

A bit crowded at the show but a lot of interesting stuff to see.

Went down the street to the BBQ place for lunch. The pulled pork was great.

I came I saw.. I never have to go back [laugh] If you are into old guns it would be a good show to see

Amazing the things you see at these shows..One table had pistols out with plastic netting over it..one guy walks up and just pulls the netting out of the way and people started grabbing guns like it was free cheese day..I stood back to watch as I figured all hell was about to break loose..Female working the booth remained calmer than I would have when she turned around and noticed what was going on..Walked over took all the guns out of peoples hands put the netting back and just walked away shaking her head and mumbling

I was about to start my own riot thinking the small room was the entire show [laugh]

Got there at 1030 and found tula .556 for $5.00 a box. Bought all 14 he had
good deal theee

I didn't see any reloading presses or even a single die set. Saw maybe 6 cans of various rifle powder and a dozen boxes of large rifle primers all at the same table. Too many cheap knives and antique guns.

Never knew that hot dog guy was there. Had a couple of his chili dogs after the show. Not bad at all. [wink]

Anyway, not a great show for me, but at least I didn't have to wait in line in the cold this year. Loads of antiques again, which shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone. It was crowded inside but not crazy over-crowded. You never know what you might find so I took a chance despite the rain. No winners today but no regrets either. Marlboro is coming soon enough.

What was the deal with the guy behind the counter asking if we had firearms?
Was it for appraisals?
A couple years ago I went to this show and a cop was asking everybody at the door.

Also did anybody else have a boy give them free Starrett decimal/fraction/drill and tap cards?
I'm guessing there was a gun smith in the front hallway.

Private venue, they have the right to ask. You need to check your gun at the door, they tag and bag your ammo/mag and zip tie the gun. They hand your gun back to you after they zip tie it and at the end of the show you pick up your ammo/mag.
Marlborough and Springfield are both the same way.

Jason.

It is mostly an antique gun show, about 4 dealers with modern stuff.

But once Lexington bans semi's and other towns follow suit that is all we will be able to own, no more Class A's
