Suggestion re: Vendor Names

It hasn't been an issue lately (seems to come in fits and starts), but to make everyone's life easier, could the censorship options be used to prevent people from posting the names of vendors that ship to MA?

That would be great! Then you could just input vendor names into NES and see who ships to MA by who gets censored out of your post .

Good idea but probably not practical. How about if someone makes a "look who ships to MA" post or thread, they get a nice 1-2 week NES suspension where they can't post! That would prevent people from screwing it up.

Less utility but adding in names of other places that don't can alleviate this problem. But in the end, yes, this will be a chicken and egg problem. The very idea we are talking about censorship is beyond the pale as it is. It never works for governments, and it won't work here.

One time is has historically worked was during a conflict where letters from war zones were censored to avoid the disclosure, unintentional or otherwise, of information that could be of use to the enemy. Of course, that was an entirely different situation that we face in MA.
