Got my mind set on another M&P 9mm or a Beretta 92fs. I once owned an M&P and regret selling it. I used to fire a Beretta in the Corps. I dont plan on carrying any of them. Any suggestions, comments, opinions?

I love my M&P, but I also like my Sig P229 in 9mm. If you want high cap mags, the M&P doesn't have any that are pre-ban. Sig and Beretta don't have that problem.

Ok, I'm going against the tide on this one. Go for the Beretta 92, just as high quality of a weapon as the M&P (I own both), but with one significant advantage...high cap mags are plentiful & cheap for these guns...just my thoughts.

Between the M&P and the Beretta, I would prefer the M&P. Since you don't plan to carry it you might want to consider the M&P with the longer 5" barrel to increase your sight radius. I'll bet that would be every bit as much fun to shoot as the Glock 34.

-Cuz.

I'll join with Big Joe and say the Beretta 92FS. It's one of the more accurate guns I've shot, and the factory trigger doesn't make me cringe like the M&P.

Yup, good trigger and if you want it even smoother you can swap out the spring with one from a 92D...ultra smooth DA pull.

Another vote for the Beretta here. Its an excellent full size 9mm. Especially in MA where normal capacity mags will not be available for the M&P.

The M&P just keeps getting better and better..The trigger has smoothed out nice and the darn thing just shoots great.. Only complaint is the neutered mags allowed in this state..
Wish there was a 22conv unit for it like the one for the 1911..Real cheap shooting..

Had to do it Matty..

Browning Hi-Power. Probably the nicest fit to my hand of any gun I've ever owned. John Moses Browning design, choice of the SAS. What more needs be said?

If this is just a range gun, I'd go with whatever YOU like shooting better. They're both great guns. The M&P has a terrible factory trigger, but a trigger job will give you a sweet shooting gun with the best ergonomics out there. The Beretta is a versatile and proven design with available high cap mags.

I would say 'get the M&P' because I know the joy of selling a gun, regretting it, then getting the gun back. I came to regret selling my Ruger Mark III about six months after I let it go; I just picked up a sweet Mark II about two weeks ago, and all is right with the world again.
