FYI, here's some info on a new book on Supreme Court Gun Cases. Authors are well-known top-notch at pro-2A folks (2 are gun rights attorneys).

thanks LenS, I have been looking for something with that kind of info. I do wish though, that more recently some of the current anti-gun laws have been challanged.

Be careful about assuming that the "rules" extracted from these cases would apply in Massachusetts.

Federal courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States, may as a general matter decide only federal issues. The definitions of such things as self defense, including the subsidiary question of the duty first to flee, are for the most part state law issues.
