Hi, I'm in production of a post apocalyptic short film right now. I've got some great locations, but I'm in need of some help.

The story focuses around a nomadic scavenger culture (the film takes place maybe a generation after the breakdown of society).

Is there anyone who would be interested in helping me build their encampment that would be consisting of makeshift tents? I want this to be as accurate and realistic as possible, and figured this is the place to come.

Locations are in Massachusetts on the south shore... shooting dates are not solid yet, but will be on a Saturday and Sunday.

Feel free to email me at: films@matthewoverstreet.com

Best,

Matt

I would think that a generation after any collapse there wouldnt be much left for things like tarps, plastic sheeting etc.

Unless darned near everyone is wiped out, rebuilding after a collapse would be nearly instantaneous.

What held us back for thousands of years was ignorance of science.

Though sometimes I wonder if the Garden of Eden and the Apple was a prediction, not relating past "events"...

Think about it for a while.

Your set exists today in the slums and remote villages commonly found in third world countries and parts of the USA. Maybe get a dumpster filled from a demolition site and let some people use it as their "materials" to build a shanty. That's basically what happens world-wide: one man's trash is another man's treasure.

But if you have a drop in population, then I would think you'd have people squatting in existing homes.
