Ted Cruz for SCOTUS??????

This is why he does this shit. He gets bored, throws a lol-granade and then watches them lose their minds. He and Cruz were probably loling about it behind closed doors and the liberal again get played by his Twitter fiddle.

This. I don't think this is anything but red meat for the masses of both parties.

Ted Cruz is not confirmable, and I feel like he loves the spotlight a bit to much to work earnestly as a SCOTUS justice. Even in this polarized era, it's still a big deal when one of them says ANYTHING in public. Cruz wouldn't be able to handle that.

It's a great strategy, let the moonbats act like shitty screetching chinese fireworks, then RBG dies, nominate normal candidate, now msm/moonbats lose more credibility because of crying wolf.... [rofl]

No, but it is pretty clear she will send her retirement letter at 11 pm Eastern on Tuesday November 3, 2020, regardless of who wins. If Trump wins, God willing, she'll retire because she's too ill and old to hold 4 more years. If Biden wins, God helps us all, she'll retire because she achieved her goal.

If the left captures the Presidency and the Senate she'll retire. Otherwise she'll bitterly cling past her last breath.

Most of the ones I'd watched clips of? It's been a while but he never seemed to hold back(I'm not looking up stuff on Youtube)
No worries. The clips u are watching are exactly that. Clips on tv. If u are talking Benghazi all he did was bark at Killary like a little Chihuahua. He even admitted it was all a show to get her poll numbers down. He also defended the Mueller investigation and actually said most Americans should want this. So most Americans should want to be spied on? Or have an outgoing administration spy on an incoming one?? Hell, after all he is a life long prosecutor, and prosecutors are gonna prosecute. Keep watching clips of him, cuz all he is now is a 5 minute stupid sound bite on Fox News with a terrible haircut. Loved how he was on The Five a few days ago talking about nothing but selling his new book. f*** Him, he’s all yours.😃🇺🇸👍🏻

Technically not a requirement for SCOTUS. From Wikipedia:

"In total, of the 114 Justices appointed to the Court, 49 have had law degrees, an additional 18 attended some law school but did not receive a degree, and 47 received their legal education without any law school attendance."
same for states attorney general i believe.
correct me if i'm wrong.. may run against maura. at the least i'll get at least the same number of votes as the NES give-aways [rofl]

what is it with Cruz that's so unlikable? If I recall, I don't think he was endorsed by any other senators, or hardly any , when he ran for president. There's just something off about him. But I did think his concession speech he gave when he lost to Trump was fantastic.

He strikes me as the southern Bible thumping style Republican.

I mostly liked Ted but he screwed himself trying to peddle himself to churchies who were already going to vote for him, meanwhile Trump went hard into Middle America, rust belt, etc.

He's plastic. Fake. And if he's not, he comes across that way to a lot of folks.

Regardless, in this litigious society, I would prefer a justice who actually studied law. There are plenty of good option who have studied the law...

Plus - there's another benefit. If Trump appoints a justice from an appellate court, he gets to nominate a justice for that now vacant spot too. that's a twofer... Now he's influenced the supreme court and the appellate court... Meanwhile, if he picked a senator, there would probably be a special election Rs could lose.

Picking anyone other then another justice just doesn't make sense.

This just popped up in my feed

It almost sounds like he is turning it down or thinks he is going to have to wait a long time...
Look at his last sentence...

I think there should be some kind of Health Stipulation put into the SCOTUS laws... "If you fail to be able to do your duties for X amount of months you will be replaced" type of rule... If I remember correctly it was someone else not to long ago that was still on the SCOTUS but didn't show up for years (or what seamed like years) because they were fighting cancer or something... Then we have Ruthie, see's been out more then in lately... How do we even know if she can think right let alone vote right...

.

I'm not sure Ted Cruz could stay out of the limelight enough to be a SCJ. He likes hearing himself talk to much. He likes being on the cable news as much as possible.

Honestly, I'd prefer a current judge that has a great track record of defending the Constitution. Male, female, black, white, latino, eskimo, martian. I don't care. Get me the most constitutional person they can find based on their record.

Except he didn't go to law school...

One doesn't have to be a lawyer to sit on the SCOTUS. A sense of right and wrong and a decent moral compass are far greater attributes as qualifications. All the legal stuff is done by clerks anyway......having a great clerk staff that does good research is important.

If Ron Paul were 20 years younger I think he would be a fantastic nominee to stir shit up on the court......he would certainly trigger roberts to have several siezures in short order....

Do freedom-loving people wish for their government to extort or otherwise compel by threat of violence compliance to orders or 'laws' which are clearly in contradiction to the US Constitution and common moral values? The use of the politburo SCOTUS to ligistlate unconstitutional law is a great example of marxism 'at home'. Do Americans really care about the politburo SCOTUS' activities?

Calvary Chapel Dayton Valley church asked the politburo SCOTUS to intervene after a lower court order violated their freedom of religious expression. The church demonstrated clear discrimination against religion while favoring secular gatherings, such as casinos, gyms, restaurants, and bars. The district court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals both rejected the church’s argument, holding that commercial activities are different in nature from attendance at a church service, and that casinos can remain open while churches remained closed.

And what did the politburo SCOTUS decide?

Are court nominees simply a parade of tyranny which the useful idiots cheer-on like their favorite football team? Bueller? Bueller ??

Since the 2016 election I have gained an appreciation for Ted Cruz. He's a brilliant thinker. When he speaks he carefully crafts his words. He would be great SCOTUS material.
I voted for Cruz in the 2016 GOP Mass primary based on my recollection of
his prior appearance(s) on Mark Davis's DFW-area morning drive-time talk show.
(I don't mean campaign beauty pageant stump speech stuff in the runup to 2016 -
I mean at least a few years earlier).

IIRC, Cruz had what I'll call the "small-government/free-market freedom rap" down pat.
You've heard Rush, and I 'spect Ronaldus Magnus, deliver it.
(And trust me, neither Romney nor McCain could fake it with both hands and a flashlight).

But I had (and have) zero qualms about voting for Trump in the general election.

Lincoln had plenty of army generals who could swan about with the best of 'em.
Without the ability to change colleagues' minds, it's all dust in the wind.
We need justices who fight, and win.

And if the others (of course) have decades of experience parsing case law,
then some prospect's "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" act is going nowhere fast.
