I kind of found this gem by mistake. It's on my way to the lake and I needed to stop in to grab a canvas tarp. The sign outside the driveway says "FIREARMS" almost as an after thought, separate from the actual store sign.

Went in, grabbed a tarp and found that they had a selection of safes, gun cabinets reloading supplies and a fairly well stocked ammo case (behind the register, the whole length of the wall). I don't think I've seen that much 22lr in one place lately.

Lots of rifles, lots of Springfield Armory hand guns for decent price points (saw a XD40 for $479). Didn't take note of the ammo prices, but they had what looked like a great range of calibers in FMJ as well as JHP/home defense/personal defense.

I searched around on the forum but didn't see any reviews for this place so I thought I would start this thread. Hope I didn't out anyone's honey hole. Does anyone have any experience buying anything other than a tarp here?

I live a couple miles away. You can have breakfast at the counter, buy some lumber and a shotgun, pick up chainsaw supplies and hardware and a new Carhart jacket. Nice family too.

Check out the coupon page, Folkshere have been asking about boots; they have 15% 0ff on Muck, and $10 Off Any Purchase of Chippewa, Georgia, or Rocky Boots.

Valid through the end of this month. [smile]

Love the place. Jake really knows his stuff, as does Katie. Family owned. I buy all my firearms / firearms related stuff from them. If they don't have it, they'll order it.

It's good to know there are some NESers close by up here. Me and the family will be spending much more time up here in the near term....

I actually really like this place. It's about 1/2 hour north of me which makes it a special trip on errand-day or range-day as pretty much everything else I do/deal with on a routine basis is to the south, but, I make a point of stopping in and checking stuff out, usually as my first stop.

About the place: It's like an Agway and a Tractor Supply had a 3some with an old-school general store and The Barn Store was born. Fencing. Power Equipment. Chicks and Ducklings (in season). Tagging Station. Feed and Needs. Prepper Supplies. Hardware. Tools. Fluids. Irrigation Supplies. You name it, they likely have it.

Lots and Lots of shooting sports related stuff including safes, targets of all kinds from cheap paper to steel gongs (Looks like they have at least two of everything Caldwell ever made), cleaning supplies, reloading supplies, ammo (they normally have some kind of sale going on for the super-popular rounds like 9mm and 5.56), lots of BlackHawk! and Ruger logos/branded cases and stuff, clothing (very light on the tackticool gear, mostly tilted towards Carhartt and hunting gear - which suits me fine). Mags for most popular guns (including BX-25's at 2 for $50 and BX25x2's for around $35 and Mini-14 factory standard caps - don't have prices on them).

Nice selection of all kinds of guns.

Prices are, I would say, in the middle to maybe slightly to the high side of standard retail on anything I have looked at. Especially on things where you would take a hit on shipping (like that A500 steel rifle gong kit or the new safe) they are pretty competitive. You can likely find it for maybe a few pennies to, say, 10% less somewhere else, but you need to factor in the cost of shipping, your gas, etc, etc, etc. As I said, they also tend to have a least one or 2 deals on popular ammos as well, so for a combined trip/detour/side trip kind of thing when you are anywhere near it is well worth the stop.

There is also a small kitchen/restaurant there. Food is good to very good, if, again, maybe a touch to the high side price-wise, but not stupid.

If you are on Facebook they do a good job of posting info on sales, "Like" them to keep up to date - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Barn-Store-Of-New-England/146248805390931

For me it's kinda a destination place/first stop on errand day kinda thing. Head up, get breakfast there and peruse the wares, always pick up at least one box of ammo, then since I have too pretty much drive right past home to get wherever else I need to be (which is always along the 93 corridor from Concord down to Occupied Territory) stop at home, drop off anything and pick up the lists or whatever I inevitably forgot on the way out the door, then continue on.

I would encourage you all to stop buy at least once. Well worth the trip IMO.

Oh, no! NOT CHAINSAWS! Those are DANGEROUS and should be outlawed for the good of the children! Loss of limbs, loss of hearing, and a general lack of exercise compared to using an axe! Not to mention adding to the carbon footprint! Oh, the humanity!
