Good info. It's been duped many times before and there is actually a sticky (that nobody ever bothers to look for) with that info in the proper forum (that nobody bothers to look for either).

Aw, copyright schmopyright. It's a liability issue.

On the one hand, gun manufacturers are highly motivated to ensure that owners have manuals, for free, to keep them from shooting themselves in the leg. S&W is nuts if they won't ship you one gratis.

On the other hand, manufacturers are constantly adding new Nanny State disclaimers like "bullets can give you lead poisoning". The last thing they want is some assclown licking his bullets, losing the ability to brain, and suing S&W because the obsolete manual they got from some guy named "Steve" they met on an Intarweb street corner didn't say "don't lick bullets [in California]".

Multiply that by all the other guys who want to build a gun manual web shrine twice as kewl as Steve's, and its no wonder that S&W said ``How about "no"? "No" works for us''.

The lawyers lose style points for not demanding that Steve atone for his "infringement" (%DILLIGAF) by posting their lawyer letter setting all this out, so that their clients (S&W) don't come off like the bad guys.

yup---searched for a long time for a manual for my s & w 422. couldn't find one. joined nes and there it was.
