Absolute abuse of office.
 
You would think that NYSP seizing 2500+ firearms from persons deemed a risk to themselves or others would have resulted in plenty of bad situations, with bodies piling up. These are wacko nutjobs with guns, after all. But it’s probably less risky to serve an ERPO than to do a traffic stop.

I have a young friend who is in the NY State Police academy - they delayed his entry twice as they didn’t have enough candidates to form an entering class. He’ll probably start by dealing with bus loads of immigrants sent upstate. Or serving ERPOs.

'deemed a risk' when a neighbor karen calls them and declares you a risk to yourself, after your dog barked at hers outside.
but, all in the name of the good cause, of course. an every little bit works.
