i have the savage 10-FCP-SR and absolutely love it. it launches pretty much any projectile very well from crappy M80 ball up to 168gr BTHP. the model 11 scout is cool too. i did look at it. however the 10-FCP basically had some better features for approx the same price. the scout configuration is OK but just not my thing. i've played around trying to run a scout optic (the leupold FX-II) but have found it makes the rifle too front heavy and particularly with the .308 cartridge just seems way underpowered for range.
so IMO while the model 11 scout is very nice, if you intend to run a standard configuration optic I would opt for the savage 10, particularly the 10-FCP-SR. i know carl at four seasons has them at very good price as listed on his website.
While I like the look of the scout, I decided it wasn't for me because of the forward mounted scope. That was a little too limiting for what wanted. For me 308 was for reaching out. I have my carbines for up close (<300yd) work.
that said, it's all in what you want it for. And for me "because I like it" is good enough. But if you are prioritizing think carefully about how you want to use it.
I like Savage products, and considered the 11 Scout, but ultimately decided on the Ruger Gunsite Scout.
I went with the Ruger because of it's lighter weight, shorter OAL, and utility as a suppressor host. And because two local stores had the Ruger in stock, but I would have needed to order the Savage.
