Here's a couple pics of the fire at a range in Grafton today. Tires in the back stop went up. Someone I know was dispatched to the scene and sent these pics.

There is a range in grafton? Looking for a close place to joing

If I remember correctly Grafton is one of those capped clubs, its worth double checking though... even if it is, most clubs with caps lose members every year so every time they go through a cycle slots may open up, unless they allow a waiting list.

Tire backstops are so ghetto...

It kinda looks like they used the tires to prevent damage to the railroad ties, but it still evades me why someone would want to use that as the main component of a backstop on an outdoor range.....

Because the club is poorly managed and this is a product of that skill

I am a life member of NGFGB.

The fire was indeed started by a NON-member, who was not escorted, shooting tracer rounds. The club has him on video & stills and nobody recognizes him.

The backstop has huge concrete interlocking slabs stacked high, with tires in-front, and then sand on-top of the tires. Not sure the real reason for the tires, except maybe to hold the sand from sliding down (?).

If found, he will be prosecuted for trespassing, and for property damage.

And yes, club membership is capped. Not currently accepting new members.
