I am trying to figure out the particulars when it comes to my hk p2000. I am more frustrated by the inconsistencies I experience with this gun more than any other. I've tried several types of ammo, different sighting grip and stance...I even had the trigger gone over by bill springfield. Its do or die time for this gun. Does anyone know what weight bullet these are sighted in for and at what distance. Or what type of trajectory .40sw have out of a 4 inch barrel? I need to prove to myself that the gun is either accurate and I am not or vice versus so I can sell it...

I dont like selling guns and this is really started to get to me...its at the point of desperation

I dont know much about the 9000, My S&W 4013TSW 3.5" barrel with any ammo Im on paper with 9 rounds @ 50feet. Good for me

I'm not sure what your firearms history is and mean no offense by this question, but have you ever had training in pistol shooting? It may be that you're trying to make a target gun out of a defensive gun. In many ways, I'm having the same trouble, though mine is more a matter of age, eyesight getting bad and that it's in my head...After a couple decades or more of pistol proficiency, I've been struck with a case of "low-left-itis".... It's not the gun, (HK USP45 and Sig220) - it's me....

Alot of it is me...I cant seem to wrap my head around the LEM trigger. But Im am trying to eliminate all the other variables, crappy ammo/different trajectory, so that I can really focus on my trigger pull and know that the results are off because I jerked, not because the 180 grain is flying 6 in lower than the 155...

Have you fired it off a sandbag rest yet? That should get some questions answered. I'd test it with 165 grainers, to start. (I'm guessing this is a .40). I'd also set up the target at 25 feet or closer. Many defensive-type guns don't have their sights regulated for long distances.

Im gonna set up a proper rest once the weather clears a little bit, I just got it back last week and havent shot it enough after the trigger job. Any idea where 165's should be hitting and at what distance...I know with HK that POA/POI is behind the dot. But at what distance?

I agree with Drgrant - fire it from a rest, if you don't have one ask around at your club. This will give you a more accurate idea.

I know at 25 feet mine is pretty much dead on... front sight covers holes... if I pull the trigger correctly... I found that when I mashed the trigger on my P2K too hard, it would pull shots to the left a bit.

i would say that taking into account the cheap reman. ammo most of my shots are still consistently left. I'll work on this as soon as the sun comes back out. Thanks...25 ft is probably a bit closer than I have been shooting but Ill move forward and lock it down.

I haven't shot the P2000 but all the H&K pistols I've shot, shot great. Regarding the .40 S&W, I've shot that caliber out of a Para Ordnance P16 out to 200 yards and found it to be accurate and flatter shooting than the .45acp.

KMM696 and I spent the afternoon in the pouring rain, pouring ammo downrange at LSA. We were laughing fools - even shooting my HK USP 45 and his Sig 239 at 100-yards! And hitting the target! It didn't hurt having a spotter, but hearing .45ACP and .357 Sig slamming into the target boards, (24"x24") and more than a few hitting the 12x18" Dirty Bird IDPA targets was awesome! What it did was relax me - make shooting fun again. "Left-itis" was in my head...We moved down to close-defense ranges, (about 15-20 feet) and behold - left-itis had left the gun range...It was driving me insane. I was dinging steel plates and bowling pins at 50-yards with drgrant one day, then low left, low left, low left. it's been an intermittent issue and one I attribute to poorer eyesight, life-stress and getting this crap stuck in my skull. Shooting with friends like KMM696 and drgrant make me relax and remember what shooting is all about....

I think you need to CTFO and get this crap out of your noggin...I'm not sure what ranges you're shooting at, but stop...Move closer...relax, point, breathe, squeeze, recover, breathe, smile - after all you are shooting an HK...[smile]

Also, work on your grip. I have not seen it, so I cannot assess, but a recent post by Jose reminded me to GTFO of old habits and it helped greatly....

Don't give up on your HK - it's a stellar gun...I'm no fan of .40, but if I had to have one, it would be yours...

I found with my XDM that I was consistently shooting it 6" left - pretty nice groups (for a defensive gun). I spent a lot of time dry firing and I could see the sights pulling left. I am pretty sure it has to do with the trigger system, as I don't have this issue with my 1911 or other pistols.
With practice dry and live fire, it has improved.

Lucky dog you :) Hope it works out for you.

EPIC FAIL... I just got back from the range and off a rest it is shooting 4 in low at 35 ft. I guess I now start the long, frustrating attempt to contact HK customer service.
