I have a chance to purchase a DE 44. The gun was bought in Mass later it was transfered to a guy in VT. Because it was originally registered in Mass, can it be brought back ?
Thanks in advance.

I think as long as you have proof that it was registered in the state before the Guidlines went into play you are all set, but it depends on if you can find an FFL to transfer it back in.

If an 'off-list' gun was sold at retail prior to 7/30/1998 and was legally owned in MA prior to 10/22/1998, it can be transferred by an FFL. Most FFLs will want proof of at least the second part before they'll transfer it.

If you have "paper" showing it was owned in MA before the cutoff, some dealers in MA will let it come back in.
