trigger job

Greg Derr. I just got my M&P9c back from him a week ago it's great. 4lb trigger in less than a week for ~$65. If you're on the south shore it's a no brainer, I drove all the way from Westford 2X!

I've heard nothing but good things about Derr's work. I went to Larocca in Worcester only because the location was more convienient to me. Either way, you're going to love the gun once you've had the trigger worked over.

Both LaRocca and Derr do great work. Like Bob P I had my M&P full size done by LaRocca because Worcester is a lot closer to me than Marshfield. At the time gas was $4+ a gallon and the ~$125 vs $65 was a wash with time and gas factored in. I'm very happy with the trigger it's about 5.5 lbs (measured). When I picked up the compact I figured I'd give Greg a try. Greg did a great job and he worked around my schedule for drop off and pickup. Some people have said the LaRocca usually has a longer wait, I had it back in < 2 weeks but I told him I had a class that I was taking and needed it back by a certain date. I think you'll be happy with either but since you probably are closer to Derr I'd go with him.

How long did that take you? I'm in Chelmsford, and I was thinking of bringing my M&P9C to him.

I dropped it off on Sat morning. He called me Monday night and it was ready. I couldn't get down to pick it up until Sunday.

XTAV750, you're a Westford member, right? You're welcome to try mine to see how it compares. Send me a PM if you'd like to try it out some evening during the week or during the weekend.

Greg worked on two of my M&Ps and they are now a real pleasure to shoot. Another NES'r got to try my M&P 9 out last Saturday and his reaction was "wow!".

I've met up with Greg to drop the guns off and pick them up at a couple of gun clubs in the South Shore. He competes and therefore we don't need to drive to Marshfield to work with him.

Another option is going to see Bob at Hunter's Trading Post. He just did a trigger job on my M&P40 full size and it is as smooth as can be, the reset can hardly be felt or heard. One of the best things about the job was the turn around time, he had it back to me in two days. I'm not guaranteeing that kind of turn around for everyone, mabey he was a little slow at the time. Bob is a very good and conscientious gunsmith, he did a great job on my gun, just my $.02
