After watching my wife go two for two with dead nuts accuracy on deer with the Bog tripod mount, I was sold. I tested it on my ultralight tripod that I use for glassing. As long as the legs are set a bit wider it was stable. Even the tiny panhead was strong enough.

I take a look at my tikka stock and realize there as an extra bolt. Hmm, must be so you can add stuff to it. I grab a spare arca rail from the wife's photography stuff. Damn, bolt is short. Off to the hardware store. Success. Screw the arca to the stock. Boom, rock solid and it only adds a few ounces. Ready for deer camp.

well, it will work, of course, why would it not, but i would not give a huge life expectancy to that bolt in the wooden stock. recoil will eventually rip it out.

i 3d print those arca mounts, it is pretty handy to have them on.

It's synthetic, but it still could be an issue. There is a brass fitting though, so it might be okay.
