San Antonio Police Officer James Lopez was caught on camera shooting 33-year-old Jeffrey Schopp 15 times during a pursuit, after he confronted Schopp about jaywalking.

Hey. That cop made San Antonio safe from those dangerous jaywalkers. 
For some reason, Texas has a bug up their butt about jaywalking. I got detained for doing what everyone does in Mass when I was in Houston. When the cop started yelling, I had no clue what the problem was. Once he realized I was a stupid yankee, he sent me on my way.

1. Look at a map. SanAntone is the bunghole of America.
2. They drive like they are the bunghole of America. I hope never to go back even though it was a very pretty area overall. Except for the scummy slums outside of hte AFB.

Is jaywalking a stupid thing to be stopped for? Absolutely.
Is it a law because of the number of pedestrians who got splattered by a car? Absolutely.
Would he have been on his way in 5 minutes after a chat? Possibly, but we'll never know because he decided to run, then pull a gun, and finally execute himself. More recent stories have the coup de grace coming from Jeffrey Schopp himself.

He immediately abandoned half of everything he was holding as soon as he started running and then dropped the other half 10 seconds later. He obviously knew that there was something so wrong about him that he wasn't going to get through a 5 minute chat.
